Orally administered beta-glucans enhance anti-tumor effects of monoclonal antibodies

This study tested whether beta-glucans would boost the anti-tumor effects of monoclonal antibodies by administering them both to mice xenografted with a variety of different human tumor types.

The scientists found that:

  • The addition of beta-glucans increased the anti-tumor effects of monoclonal antibodies
  • Beta-glucans to treat cancer warrant further study
